Our services for personal wound visits

Generally, wound visits are about assessing the status of a wound. This can be done through both a personal wound visit and a digital one. We at Alpha Wundexperten believe that optimal wound management is only possible when we can inspect the wound on site. Additionally, wound care often requires practical applications that we must perform in person, at least initially.

We are confident that personal contact is essential, as it’s not just about the appearance of the wound, but also about the patient’s personal experience.

During the visit

  • we assess the condition of the wound,
  • document it in words and pictures,
  • attempt to assess the patient’s general condition, and
  • determine the further treatment plan.

A digital wound visit is often insufficient

Our trained team is firmly convinced that a digital wound visit can be a relief for everyone involved. But it has its limitations.

For a surgical wound closed with stitches, it’s generally not a problem, as only minimal wound care is needed and wound healing usually proceeds without complications. Documentation via video, for example, is sufficient.

With chronic wounds, it’s different, as these must be examined and possibly touched by an experienced professional. Only then is professional monitoring of wound healing possible.

When a wound visit must be done in person

When a wound visit must be done in person

For many medical conditions, a correct assessment is only possible through a personal wound visit. Especially for people suffering from chronic wounds, a conversation in familiar surroundings is essential. Only then can our experts objectively assess the patient’s condition.

We generally recommend a personal wound visit for these conditions:

It’s also advisable to conduct wound visits on site for major burns, as these wounds require special attention and must be carefully monitored during the healing phase.
